The main role of this application development engineer is to leverage materials science/engineering and 3D printing to create technologies that will enable new applications or provide alternative solutions to existing needs. Qualified candidates are highly motivated individuals with strong background and passion in materials science and/or 3D printing, who enjoy working in a highly dynamic, fast-paced and interdisciplinary team environment.
Main Responsibilities
- Identify key areas of interest in which 3D printing can provide new and economically viable solutions, or lead to creation of new applications and businesses.
- Define, plan and conduct R&D projects aimed at creating new technological solutions utilizing 3D printing
- Report and communicate results or outcomes of the aforementioned R&D projects both internally and externally
- Able to work in teams
Qualifications
- BS or higher degrees in science or engineering disciplines
- Good communication skills in both Chinese and English
- Good problem solving skills
- Good time and project management skills
- Team player
- Good understanding about intellectual properties, particularly patents; prior working experience with patents is highly preferred
- Candidates with prior experience in polymer science/engineering or 3D printing will be preferred
